CHOOSE TO CONQUER
Sara is no stranger to adversity. She believes that no matter what adversities we face in life, we are responsible for how we handle them. We are given a choice to conquer or complain. Like Sara, choose to conquer.
“Being An Athlete Saved My Life”
Groenewegen was asked by the Canadian Olympic Committee to write a first-person article about her Olympic journey, and the health adversities that came along the way. “We are all facing battles of all definitions, some that we aren’t even physically able to see. But most of them have something in common – it is out of our control. What is in our control is how we choose to see them and handle them”
HISTORY MADE.
Groenewegen has been a member of the Canadian Women’s National Softball team since the summer of 2013. Team Canada qualified for the 2020 Olympic Games in September of 2019, on the field she grew up playing on, and was a key member of Team Canada’s first team to medal at the Olympics, coming back to Canada with a bronze medal from Tokyo 2020.
